Gremio President Romildo Bolzan Júnior reveals the Brazilian side are in talks to sign Douglas Costa.

The Brazilian winger joined Bayern Munich from Juventus on loan in the summer, but the Bavarians do not want to sign the player permanently.

Gremio have emerged as one of the clubs interested in securing his services even if, according to reports in Italy, the player's salary could stall negotiations.

"We are trying to understand how to do it. We have people talking to his agent," Bolzan Júnior told Radio Bandeirantes.

As Calciomercato.com points out, there is another problem concerning Douglas Costa's possible return to Brazil: the South American country's transfer window ends on May 23.

The 30-year-old sees his contract with Juventus expire in June 2022.

The Old Lady are open to selling him for €10m, the minimum fee they need to avoid a capital loss.

Douglas Costa played 30 games over two seasons with Gremio before joining Shakhtar Donetsk in 2009.

The Brazilian was linked with a move to Milan in the January transfer window.
