With Mason Greenwood hesitating over Olympique Marseille and Roberto De Zerbi’s side turning elsewhere, Lazio and Juventus can be back in for the Manchester United winger.

The 22-year-old had effectively secured a move to France for a fee of €27.6m plus €4m in add-ons and up to 50 per cent of the future sale fee.

However, following a protest from the Mayor of Marseille and numerous fans over his ugly history of domestic abuse charges, the deal stalled.

Marseille were still repeatedly calling Greenwood to convince him, but he is not sure, so today it is reported in Sun Sport that the Ligue 1 side is turning towards De Zerbi’s former Brighton and Hove Albion player Simon Adingra instead.

Greenwood still on Serie A radar

If confirmed, it would clear the path for Greenwood to come to Serie A instead, with Lazio still the most interested club.

They are not alone, as Juventus can get back into the running after their first choice Jadon Sancho surprisingly made up with Erik ten Hag and returned to Manchester United training.

Napoli have also been linked with Greenwood, but so far they are only at the initial stage of keeping an eye on the situation.
