Juventus are serious about signing controversial winger Mason Greenwood this summer and have drawn up a plan ahead of talks with Manchester United.

The 22-year-old Englishman emerged as an exciting talent with the Red Devils in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons before videos and photos circulated on social media showing allegedly abusive and controlling behaviour during the 2021-22 campaign.

In January 2022, Greenwood was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault, and was later charged with attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and controlling and coercive behaviour in October 2022. Charges were eventually dropped, despite what had been widely seen on social media, and he was dumped off to Getafe.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com details how Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli is increasingly convinced that Greenwood would be a strong addition to the squad in the summer, appreciating his technical characteristics and relatively low-cost considering what’s happened off the pitch.

Manchester United have no intention of keeping the 22-year-old forward following his return from Getafe in the summer, aware of the PR nightmare in England, and have set a €30m price tag. The Old Lady are hoping to pay around half of that, especially as his contract there expires in 2025.
