Gravina was speaking to Rai after he held talks with Lega Serie A over revising the controversial health protocol to resume top-flight football during the coronavirus pandemic.
“There’s one objective difficulty: the impossibility of finding accommodation facilities available for retreats,” he told the state broadcaster.
“Therefore, we must allow, with Spadafora and Speranza on side, a minor change to the protocol, which can transform training from individual work into collective work.
“We remain concerned by the issue of one positive test sending an entire team into quarantine.
“It’s an issue that we face with determination and also attention to avoid a stressed relationship, which brings tensions and a barrier to the season resuming.”
Serie A clubs announced a provisional resumption date of June 13 on Wednesday but, with so many fixtures set to be crammed in, could the idea of playoffs and playouts come back?
“The idea hasn’t been thrown out. We must be ready for any possible outcome. Now there’s the possibility Serie A will resume on June 13 with a busy schedule.
“However, we must be ready for anything, which is why we’re looking at different arrangements such as playoffs.”
