FIGC President Gabriele Gravina says he is a ‘supporter of playoffs’ and insists Serie A must become ‘more uncertain and fascinating.’

"Before the outbreak of the pandemic we had started a path to relaunch Italian football which must redefine a new relationship between the Leagues,” Gravina told Il Messaggero.

“We could discuss about the formats only afterwards. I will convene and extraordinary meeting to make the FIGC of the future more sustainable and representative.

“I am a great supporter of the playoffs, but we can not reduce everything to this. This year the Serie A is very exciting, and yet we have to constantly ask ourselves about how to make it increasingly uncertain and fascinating,” he added.

When he was asked his thoughts about the CONI ruling concerning Juventus-Napoli, Gravina replied: “My role requires impartiality and respect, I do not enter into the merits of the decision.

“What I can say is that the justice of FIGC is administered by jurists of great value, who exercise their task scrupulously, with passion and dedication, without conditioning.”
