The Italian Government has now given the all-clear for fans in the Stadio Olimpico for the Euro 2020 opener between Italy and Turkey, pending the CTS (Technical Scientific Committee) protocol.
“The Government’s move is an excellent result that is good for the country, not just sport,” said FIGC President Gravina.
“I particularly wish to thank Minister for Health Roberto Speranza, because he asked the CTS to identify the best solutions that will allow the presence of fans at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for the European Championship.
“In such a complex moment, we are glad that the Government still made clear its intention to see an Italian presence confirmed at this event, putting their faith in the FIGC.
“We received a strong signal going towards recovery, which we will promptly pass on to UEFA.”
