Andreas Granqvist had been on the verge of joining Dynamo Kiev, but his agent reveals “there could be a surprise” for the Genoa defender.

It had been reported in several news sources that a switch to the Ukraine club was imminent, though he had also been linked with Liverpool.

“Over the next few days we’ll see what happens,” agent Dario Canovi told Sky Sport Italia.

“He could go abroad, but there could also be a surprise. For example, remaining at Genoa or an Italian club intercepting negotiations, as they have finally realised this is one of the best centre-backs in Serie A.”

Juventus, Napoli and Milan are looking for reinforcements at the back, so Granqvist would suit their needs.
