Udinese coach Luca Gotti said his men ‘didn’t play well’ in either half of the 3-1 defeat to Empoli on Monday.

The reports in Italian media suggest Gotti’s position at the Dacia Arena is uncertain after the defeat to Aurelio Andreazzoli’s men in the 16th round of fixtures.

Serie A | Empoli 3-1 Udinese: the Azzurri turn the match around

Gerard Deulofeu scored the opening goal in the first half, against the run of play, but the home side bounced back in the second half and turned the game.

Petar Stojanovic and Nedim Bajrami turned the game around, before Andrea Pinamonti made it 3-1 and sealed the win for the Azzurri.

“We didn’t play well in the first half either,” Gotti told DAZN. “Empoli gave us huge spaces that we should have used better.

“In the second half, we had two chances before the equaliser. We played a bad game, full of defensive errors and even in front of goal.

“The forwards were not very lucid, but everyone was lacking a bit. The management could have been done better. I didn’t like the dribbling.”
