Luca Gotti claims Udinese and Genoa ‘are similar’ and stressed the Friuli must take ‘one game at a time’ to continue towards safety in Serie A.

Udinese sit five points above Genoa in the table ahead of their trip to the Marassi, but Gotti feels the Rossoblu and the Bianconeri share a ‘similar’ path this term.

“Beyond the change of gear, it seems to me that this Genoa are similar to us,” Gotti said at a press conference.

“Beyond the change of gear, it seems to me that this Genoa are similar to us,” Gotti said at a press conference.

“Therefore the pitfalls that we will find in Genoa are the same ones that they will be able to find against us.”

Gotti said his job is to keep steering the Friuli towards the target and said they are not ‘mathematically safe’.

“Keeping the team on target is a major part of the coach’s job,” he said. “But this applies to all the League games, not just tomorrow.

“Meanwhile, at 32 points we are not mathematically safe. So, you have to claim more points to consider yourself out of the fray.

“I believe, then, that the only wise way of thinking is to concentrate on one game at a time and no more."
