“In the first days of the week, everyone’s disappointment was palpable, mine in the first place,” Gotti said at a press conference.

Udinese coach Luca Gotti praised Bram Nuytinck, who will play his 100th Serie A game for the Bianconeri against Bologna. ‘He’s a silent leader’.

Ahead of the match against the Rossoblu at the Dacia Arena, Gotti admitted he and his men were disappointed after the 2-1 defeat to Juventus last time.

“In the first days of the week, everyone’s disappointment was palpable, mine in the first place,” Gotti said at a press conference.

“Then, we gradually targeted the next match. Seven games ago we had 33 points and in between there were too many defeats, some deserved, other less.

“It was a sequence of episodes that led us to lose many points. We know that the last four games will be complicated, but we must try to collect as much as possible.”

Bologna and Udinese are tied on 39 points after 34 games and Gotti expects ‘an open match’ against Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men.

“We must face this game with attention and courage,” he continued. “I expect that there’s possibilities of an open match.

“Both teams are in a position to express their quality.”

Gotti then praised Nuytinck, who will make his 100th Serie A appearance for the Friuli.

“Bram is a silent and extremely positive leader within the group,” Gotti explained. “He’s a player who spends every day trying to help his teammates.

“Beyond his individual qualities, he has the ability to make those in positions close to him play even better.”
