Gosens has dual Dutch and German citizenship, but grew up in Germany and said he feels ’51 per cent German’.

He moved to Atalanta in 2017 from Dutch side Heracles Almelo and his transfer value has sky-rocketed after scoring 10 goals with eight assists in 43 competitive games last season.

Löw also confirmed PSG player Thilo Kehrer will start on the right flank, while Niklas Süle and Leroy Sane are also guaranteed in the initial XI.
