A new round of swab tests underwent on Sunday highlighted Gosens was a ‘false positive’ for COVID.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, however, the 26-years-old could still miss Atalanta’s away clash at Ajax on Wednesday as he needs a certificate of ‘false positivity’ released by the local health authority.
According to the report, it is not to be taken for granted that Atalanta will receive the certificate prior to their trip to Amsterdam where they will play a decisive game to qualify for the last-16 stage.
If they won’t receive it, the player will be forced to self-isolate for the next ten days.
A win or a draw would be enough for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to qualify for the next stage of Europe's elite competition.
Atalanta didn’t play their away clash at Udinese on Sunday due to a waterlogged pitch.
