The wing-back has excelled under Gian Piero Gasperini in Bergamo and was linked with a big move last summer.
He ended up staying at Atalanta and admitted he needs to play consistently to get in the Germany squad for Euro 2020 next summer.
“I have always said I would only leave for a project that was 100 per cent valid for me,” Gosens told Sky Sport Italia.

“I have always said I would only leave for a project that was 100 per cent valid for me,” Gosens told Sky Sport Italia.
“I know that this season I must play regularly to get to the European Championship. Then, it’s an honour when great clubs are interested.
“But I’m glad I stayed.”
Gosens believes Inter are the favourites to win the Scudetto this term.
“The Scudetto is a big word, we face the championship thinking about one game at a time,” he said. “My favourites are Inter, they have the strongest squad and more quality.”
