Robin Gosens’ goal against Salernitana after just six minutes helped Inter avoid a negative record, which would see them fail to score from open play in 500 minutes.

The Nerazzurri had to score in the opening 16 minutes at the Stadio Arechi to avoid going 500 minutes without a goal from open play across all competitions.

Romelu Lukaku had scored twice for Inter in the previous five games, but always from the spot, meaning Lautaro Martinez’s goal against Lecce on March 5 was the Nerazzurri’s last goal from open play.

The last time they had remained more than 500 minutes without scoring was in 2012 (541 minutes), with Claudio Ranieri in charge.
