January signing Robin Gosens is finally set to start his first game at Inter, replacing Ivan Perisic against Spezia.

The Croatia international has become a father, so he didn’t travel with the team to Liguria yesterday and was allowed to join the team later in the day. Simone Inzaghi will likely rest him against Spezia today, playing Robin Gosens from the start.

The Germany full-back joined the Nerazzurri from Atalanta on loan with an option to buy in January and has collected six appearances with the Serie A giants since, all as a substitute. Gosens suffered a severe hamstring injury in October, remaining out of action for several months.

He started his last game against Inter on September 25 and today, he may get the nod for the first time since.

Gosens has been one of the best left-backs in Italy over the last few years and managed 29 goals and 21 assists in 157 appearances with Atalanta. Perisic is one of the five midfielders to have contributed to at least 80 goals in Serie A since 2015-16.
