Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo said ‘no’, but his Atalanta teammates made sure Robin Gosens still got a CR7 shirt.
“After the final whistle, I went to him, I didn’t even go to the audience to celebrate… but Ronaldo didn’t accept,” Gosens revealed in his autobiography ‘It’s Worth Dreaming’.
“I asked him: ‘Cristiano, can I have your shirt?’
“He didn’t even look ad me, he just said: ‘No’. I was completely blushed and ashamed. I went away and I felt small. You know that moment when something embarrassing happens and you look around to see if anyone has noticed it? That’s how I felt, and I tried to hide it.”
Gosens’ teammates at the Gewiss Stadium joked about the fact that Ronaldo turned him down and decided to get together to make sure he got a CR7 shirt in the end.
