Robin Gosens was overjoyed to celebrate the first trophy of his career following Inter’s Coppa Italia win over Juventus yesterday.

The 27-year-old German wing back joined the Nerazzurri in a deal worth around €25m in total from Atalanta in the January transfer window, but he’s had a slow start in the Lombardy capital; Gosens has only made a handful of appearances for Inter following the transfer due to a hamstring injury.

Writing on his Instagram page, Gosens celebrated the Coppa Italia victory and poked fun at teammate Denzel Dumfries.

“First trophy of my career and Dumfries finally smiling. Perfect night. Well done everyone!”

Gosens spent four-and-a-half years in Bergamo with Atalanta prior to his Inter move. Under Gian Piero Gasperini, the German wing back made 157 appearances across all competitions, scoring 29 goals and providing 21 assists.

Ivan Perisic’s strong performances this season, including in the Coppa Italia final yesterday, may leave Gosens fighting for his starting spot next season, should the Nerazzurri renew the Croatian’s contract.
