The agent representing Robin Gosens confirms they are down to ‘the details’ for the Atalanta wing-back’s transfer after snubbing Newcastle United. ‘Why did he choose Inter? Because it’s Inter.’
A deal has essentially been done between the two clubs, with a loan and obligation to buy for €22m plus up to €3m in performance-related bonuses.
All that remains is for the personal terms to be finalised and then a medical, which is expected to take place tomorrow in Milan.
Agents and intermediaries were spotted visiting Inter headquarters this afternoon, including Paolo Busardò, who was interviewed on the way out.
“It’s not done yet, there are still some details to be sorted out, we’ll see,” he said.
“I don’t know if it’ll be finalised by tonight.”
Having rejected a bigger transfer fee and salary from Newcastle United in order to accept Inter, the agent was asked why Gosens had chosen Inter.
“Because it’s Inter,” was the response.
“We hope it can be the right solution for him.”

Newcastle aren’t an attractive “project” for players yet, and Gosens is far too good for them. At least for now. A few years from now, Newcastle will probably be signing the best players from Serie A, which is depressing to say the least.
New Castle is battling to avoid relegation…they are not comparable to Inter. Every player will dream to play for Inter. The only club never been relegated to Serie B, they have a good ethic and far from calciopoli
