“He had the coronavirus and fell into depression,” Gomez told TyC Sports. “There comes a moment when the head explodes. He’s fine now.”
The 32-year-old has appeared two times in Serie A 2020-21 and contributed an assist in the first Champions League match against FC Midtjylland last week.
He is not expected to start against Ajax tonight, but could be involved again when the Dutch giants arrive in Bergamo.
