German newspaper Bild claims Napoli have a deal for Mario Gomez, but in Italy it’s suggested he’s closer to Fiorentina.

The Bayern Munich striker is expected to leave this summer after winning the Treble, as he has struggled for playing time.

On Sunday evening Bild ran a report suggesting Napoli had already clinched a deal for the forward, but Italian media have a different version.

“Until Edinson Cavani’s destiny is clarified, we cannot think about bringing Gomez to Napoli,” said FIFA agent Pasquale Gallo, who works with Gomez’s representative Uli Ferber.

“I therefore do not think advanced negotiations are possible at this moment. Gomez would be treated like a King in Naples, because we’re talking about a very sweet guy who would certainly be loved by the fans.”

Meanwhile, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio also commented on the situation with Radio Marte.

“Napoli spoke to Gomez’s agents, but he is seen as an alternative to Cavani. Fiorentina, on the other hand, want to seal the deal.”

The Viola are more likely than ever to push for German international Gomez now, as other target Alvaro Negredo’s price-tag has levitated.

Today Sevilla President Jose Maria del Nido announced he had turned down a €17m offer for Negredo from West Ham United.
