Hellas Verona forward Juanito Gomez has insisted signing a new contract at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi is out of his hands.
The Argentine is currently in his second spell with the Gialloblu but with less than a year-and-a-half left on his current deal, speculation has begun as to what he might do next.
“My contract expires in June 2015 but the renewal is nothing to do with me,” Gomez has told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“It’s up to the club and the owner. I’m not thinking about the future because for me Verona are a great team.
“I want to do well here. Mandorlini has given me trust and security, and the group here is fantastic.
“We’ll all do our best to keep on progressing but I think it’s too early for us to start talking about targets for the season.
“At this club there are a lot of players who want to play more, but there is only one person who will decide that.”
