Fiorentina and Monza are considering an exchange of goalkeepers – via Atalanta – that would try to revitalise the careers of Pierluigi Gollini and Alessio Cragno.

According to Tuttomercatoweb and Fiorentinanews.com, the clubs are discussing a potential merry-go-round in the January transfer window.

It would be only the latest move for Gollini, who failed to make an impact on loan at Tottenham Hotspur last season and has done even worse at Fiorentina.

His only appearances tended to coincide with howlers and he has been shoved onto the bench in favour of Pietro Terracciano, even in the Europa Conference League games.

Still owned by Atalanta, Gollini is reportedly heading towards Monza, who in turn have to find a new club for Cragno.

Previously one of the best-respected goalkeepers in Serie A at Cagliari, his loan move to Monza found him featuring only in two Coppa Italia games.

It is hoped the 28-year-old can emerge from under Michele Di Gregorio’s shadow with a switch to Fiorentina.
