According to Sky Sport Italia, Pierluigi Gollini’s move to Fiorentina is a done deal and the ex-Tottenham goalkeeper will undergo his medical next week.

The 27-year-old is ready to return to the Artemio Franchi on an initial loan deal worth €500,000 with an option to buy for €8m.

Gollini spent the last season on loan at Tottenham but never played in Premier League games, so Spurs didn’t activate their option to buy. The Italy international returned to Atalanta, but Fiorentina are now ready to welcome him again.

According to the report, Gollini will undergo his medical on Monday or Tuesday.

Gollini had already played in Florence, between 2010 and 2012, but joined Manchester United at the age of 17 before signing his first professional contract with the Tuscans.

Both Bartlomiej Dragowski and Pietro Terracciano didn’t put in unconvincing performances at the Artemio Franchi last season, so the Tuscans opted to get a new goalkeeper with proven Serie A experience.

Gollini has played 117 games in Italy’s top flight with Verona and Atalanta, keeping 31 clean sheets.
