The list of 20 players competing for the U21 prize ‘Golden Boy’ is official, as two Italian players are in the running to be named the best young player in Europe.
Tuttosport has announced the players who are in contention to win the 19th edition of the trophy reserved for the best Under 21 player in 2021.
Milan have Paolo Maldini’s son Daniel on the list, while Atalanta are represented by Roberto Piccoli, who returned to the Gewiss Stadium after a season on loan at Spezia last term.
But the big favourite for the prize is Barcelona star Pedri, who is nominated for the Ballon d’Or, the Kopa Trophy and now the Golden Boy prize.
