It kicks off on Monday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT) in Dusseldorf.
“We watched a lot of videos, including their quarter-final with Basel,” the defender told Sport Mediaset.
“They like to keep the ball, play it to feet, push the full-backs forward. They have a lot of quality players, so we have to press them and annihilate their passing circuits, then we can hurt them with our own style of football.”
Godin has struggled for playing time in his debut Serie A season, but is a regular during their Europa League campaign.
“It was a challenge for me to understand what Antonio Conte wanted. It’s totally different to the way I played and moved for 15-20 years. I had to change mentally and also physically, change the way I looked at football, and I’ve learned so much from the coach.
“It wasn’t easy, but now I have understood what Conte wants from me.”
