With FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio having repeatedly stated his support for introducing goal-line technology in Serie A, it may be only a matter of time before the technology is introduced in Serie B as well.

“The referees, however well they may work, cannot do without technology,” Serie B chief Abodi has admitted, in an interview with Gr Parlamento Rai as reported by Ansa.it.

“In the next assembly I'll ask to adopt the ‘goal vs. no goal’ for the play offs, but I think the decision has to be made all round, on the pitch and outside of it.

“Goal-line technology is too big for us financially. But from the next season onwards we could implement it in the play-off games.”
