Juventus and Bayern Munich have agreed a deal for defender Matthijs de Ligt to join the Bundesliga champions, according to reports in Italy, worth €70m plus €10m in bonuses.

The Netherlands international has agreed terms with Bavarians, earlier reports in Italy on Saturday had suggested.

And Goal now claim the two clubs have also reached an agreement, which means the transfer can no go through.

De Ligt joined Juve in 2019 following his role in helping Ajax reach an improbable Champions League semi-final – a run which also included victory over the Bianconeri in the last eight.

At the time, he had been a reported target for Bayern, as well as some of the leading Premier League teams, but opted for a move to Juve.

In Turin, he was won a Serie A title, Coppa Italia and Supercoppa in his three seasons with the club – only once finishing a campaign trophyless.

But suffered frustration in the Champions League with last-16 eliminations at the hands of Lyon, FC Porto and Villarreal.

  1. Not looking good for us. We are seriously short in defence and lets not kid ourselves with Rugani. Bonucci is getting older and more prone to injuries. Even if we get two brand new defenders, they take time to gel and it is time we do not have. I never thought Milan would win the title, so my hope is to be surprised, even with Allegri.

  2. @Jeremy we will be buying a defender this trasnfer window, can only buy a defender when we sell de ligt, as we dont have 50m euros to spend with his transfer

Lets see the transfee details, hopefully its 90m euros including add ons, cant see anything higher, especially when bayern frst bid was 60m euros upfront with 10m add ons

  3. I would prefer Bremer and one of Gabriel and Pau. But 80 mill is 15-20 too less. Zaniolo is a gamble with injuries and his behavior.

  4. Depends on quality of replacement. Hardest department to upgrade. Now gives Allegri more excuses for bad performances.

  5. With the transfer fee exceeding €80 million and taking our highest earner off our books I think we have pulled off a decent deal. However I hope to sign one or two proven defenders now. Bremer, Gabriel, Pau Torres, Laporte are the names being mentioned.

  6. @Jeremy, I enjoy reading your comments as you are one of the very few people here that look at things logically. I don’t know where our priorities lie. We need two centre backs asap. The clock is ticking and we are nearly in August FFS. All this Bremer news is getting me tired. He is going to Inter and I do not want to here about Torres, Kimpembe or soon to be Kounde. It was the same with Koulibaly and look where he landed. If we were smarter, we should have leveraged Bayern to give us Hernandez and the money. He has plenty of international caps, club experience and most importantly can play on the left side of a defence as well as left back.

  7. People forget De Ligt cost Juventus €75m, & now he is being sold for €80m, so why are people saying he is being sold for less lol

He was on €10.5m a season, one of Serie A’s highest earners, Juventus have him off the books now.

De Ligt has quality & I hope he can fulfil his potential.

As a Juventus fan, I can only wish him the best & say thank you for the 3 trophies won.

  8. Just admit Gamal, you want him and want him badly. He is you daily dose of caffeine. We might not have made the profit that we wanted but look at who is running the club. Agnelli is more focused on chasing a super league dream which is not happening anytime soon. I have no idea why we brought in Arrivabene, when Luis Campos was available until he went to PSG. He is good friends with Allegri and was the one who brought in Mbappe, Bernardo Silva and Fabinho. We needed someone with that kind of vision to unearth the next big talent.

  10. They should have signed kulubaly from napoli but now he’s at Chelsea
Serie teams are not very good at keeping star players okay lukaku pogba and Di Maria have to serie a but seeing kulibaly and de ligt move is on good

  11. He never looked comfortable or even remotely accomplished in Serie A. An OK defender but had mistakes in him. I’m disappointed he has left as gobbi might bring in a stronger defender now.

  12. @Rosario go back to the Milan section and work on your grammar. Have you figured out what a ‘dinghy’ is, or are you still running with ‘dingy’? Is that why you never take on @Milan Fan?

  13. Economically, the deal is acceptable for Juve. They paid $75M and sold him for $80M and that’s after 3 years of amortisation on his initial $75M so Juve make a decent capital gain. What is not acceptable is Juve’s slow actions in getting at least one new CB into the club. With Chiellini leaving, it was always imperative that a new CB was purchased, regardless of De Ligt leaving or not. Planning for bringing in Bremer should have started long ago. Kouloabaly was never interested in playing for another Italian team and it sounds like too much time and effort was wasted in trying to convince him otherwise.

  14. Is it racusm to nit like white? I not hate but not like, btw my skin is white, but I dont like… And what us problem?

  15. 😂😂😂😂😂

Literally the dumbest thing ever posted on FI. What has skin colour go to do with ability… @Forza Juve, could you imagine if you said this about another ethnic group! The irony is the duplicate blogger trolling him just owned him. Illiberal Karens are the best.

  16. Really not that disappointed. He is a good defender but not exactly Paolo Maldini!
80 million is far more than he is worth, Juve paid Ajax way too much and did well to get it back. I would sign BOTH Bremer and Pau Torres. No need to waste money on Zaniolo!
After that, one defensive MF player and a sub striker, and the squad is looking pretty good. Try to sell of the likes of Arthur, Rabiot, Kean and so on

  17. When i ask PhD Max to De Ligt my walnuts, i fill his mouth up with so much cream that they deflate into raisins. I love the saveloy and fish sticks when they’ve been chocolate covered in PhD Max’s pleasure hole. It reminds me of when Pog-bamboo and Kean skewer the Czech Warrior from either side. It’s like a pig on a spit. Add a little saveloy, and a sprinkle of PhD Obi Wan Max’s special sauce, and baby, you’ve got a stew going.
Will post a picture later my lovelies. Namaste!

  18. Chelsea’s offer of pulisic plus 55 million or Werner plus 50 million or mount plus 45 million were all better offers than what Bayern eventually is going to pay if they wanted to accept less than 100 or 95 million as they said then why wouldn’t they make Bayern include nabry before his extension and lower the fee but at least have a defensive replacement they have to get bremer or kounde or another legitimate defender bad outcome bad deal

  19. @Cristiano

You are kind for those wishes. I, on the other hand, have nothing but contempt for him.

Juve showed so much faith in him and instead of trying to improve and make up for all those mistakes, instead of sticking it out till the end, he bails on us when we need a defender the most.

I say good riddance, we don’t need characters like that.

  20. Good riddance way overrated like most foreign players in Italy serie a was brilliant in 80s and 90s early 2000s now it’s a joke shop

Oh wait I woke up and my bamboo was in the mother of some fish and chip boy from Chipland. PhD Max will have to wait another time.

  22. Its unbielivieble, I never read this person LORD PATRON, when I start reading I momently reqlise what is this sheet… And never read any more, and this guy is writting so much… This guy feels so clever interesting and funny, but I still not understand he is juve fan or critic or hater, and not understand why he pays so much attention to than poor oldman allegri, he is poor manager but what we can change…

  23. To dt: no man if I say something about other ethnic group they would kill me, I am very scared of these devils 🙂

  24. Forza Juve, LORD PATRON is not a Juve fan. Remember there are two. One is an Allegri basher and the other is a clone from what looks to be the UK. Brown sauce is something only British people eat. Profile picture = your answer.

  25. Not as good as expected, still has potential to become one of the best defenders in the world, but he’s struggling. If we have in mind that he would leave for less in 2023, this was the best choice. Also, do not forget his huge salary.

  26. So than I understand why I never read LORD PATRON nor that clone because I never understand no one of them

  27. this is business at end of the day, they are ready to sell the whole club for money, so who cares lol
