According to the latest reports, Giuseppe Rossi will return to football for Serie B side SPAL, where his teammates include Radja Nainggolan.

The Italy international just turned 36 this month and has been a free agent since leaving SPAL in July 2022.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia are confident Rossi has agreed terms for a return to SPAL with President Joe Tacopina until the end of the season.

Born in New Jersey, Rossi followed his Calcio dream by moving to Italy for the Parma youth academy.

He was poached by Manchester United in 2004, going on to represent clubs including Parma, Fiorentina, Newcastle United, Villarreal, Celta Vigo, Genoa and Real Salt Lake City.

Pepito Rossi’s career has been dominated by injury problems above all to his knees, but still achieved 26 goals in 62 Serie A games and scored 64 times in 171 LaLiga matches.

SPAL are going through a troubled period, as they are already on their third coach of the season, having sacked Roberto Venturato and then his replacement Daniele De Rossi.

Massimo Oddo was appointed this week and ex-Roma midfielder Nainggolan brought into the squad.
