Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli says the Bianconeri will discuss Massimiliano Allegri’s future at the end of the season and promises ‘quality’ signings if the Bianconeri qualify for European competitions.
Juventus host Udinese at the Allianz Stadium on Monday night.
It kicks off at 19:45 GMT, and you can follow the build-up and live action as it happens on the Football Italia LIVEBLOG.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia about tonight’s game and the club’s plans for the future, Juventus director Giuntoli said: “We have been working really well, as we always do. Results are determined by different aspects, we have clear ideas on our targets and what we want to do. We must always have the desire to win.”
Does this mean Juventus still believe they can win the Serie A title?
“We want to win all games, but we’ve never hidden that our main target is a top-four finish. Udinese would deserve more points because they’ve played great games,” Giuntoli replied.
Juventus boss Allegri hadn’t guaranteed he would remain in Turin beyond the summer, so Giuntoli was asked if the Livorno-born coach would remain in charge next season.
“We are so happy to work with him,” said the Bianconeri director.
“He has proved to be a great coach. He has a year and a half left in his contract, and at the end of the season, we’ll have time to talk about a potential future together.”
Allegri’s Juventus future expires in June 2025.
“We need to fix a few things for next season; we’ll see our targets. We must take a step at a time and think about tonight’s game,” Giuntoli continued.
“If we play in European competitions, we’ll have to increase the number of players and sign quality ones. For now, we can’t focus on any project that is not tonight’s game.”
Juventus currently sit second in the Serie A table, seven points below Inter.
The Old Lady earned just one point in the last two Serie A matches, losing against the Nerazzurri and drawing against strugglers Empoli.
