Ibrahimovic was linked with a move to the Stadio San Paolo in the past, was that ever really a serious discussion?
“There was talk when Carlo (Ancelotti) was in charge, then we got involved in more urgent matters, as we were struggling to pick up points at the time,” Giuntoli told Sky Sport Italia.
“At this moment, at the eighth round, we can’t talk about a Scudetto test. This is a team that has been completely transformed in a year-and-a-half, so it’s still early trying to see what we can aim for.”
Tiemoue Bakayoko was a surprise arrival for Napoli in the final days of the transfer market, on loan from Chelsea.
“Rino has a very strong and direct rapport with his players, so he can use these moments of tension to fire up the team.
“Bakayoko is a splendid guy, we were looking at what could happen around the transfer market for a cheaper alternative. He was negotiating with a German club, we stepped in at the right time and got the deal done.”
The German club was believed to be Hertha Berlin.
Arkadiusz Milik has been frozen out of the squad because his contract expires in June 2021, will he be sold in January?
“We think the January transfer market will be short on strikers, lots of clubs are looking for forwards, so we think that we’ve got something valuable in our hands and we’ll hold out for the right price.”
