Director Cristiano Giuntoli assures Juventus ‘are a family’ and will continue to support banned Nicolò Fagioli, who is in the stands to watch their game against Milan tonight.

It kicks off at San Siro at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

Along with Max Allegri, the director of sport is also eager to brush off any suggestions that the Bianconeri are Scudetto favourites because they do not have European commitments.

“It is my first big game and Milan-Juventus at San Siro is always special. We must also remember our real objective is to qualify for the Champions League and hope to improve via these fixtures,” Giuntoli told DAZN.

Fagioli is in the stands sitting next to his injured teammate Danilo, as he begins his seven-month ban for placing illegal bets, along with treatment for a gambling addiction.

“Nicolò made a mistake, he will pay for that, but we are by his side both as a player and a young man. We are a family, so we stand with him and show him our support.”

Fagioli is also being allowed to continue training with the rest of the squad at the Continassa training camp in Turin.

Considering Fagioli is suspended for gambling and Paul Pogba is about to find out his ban for failing a doping test, will Juventus be active to bolster their midfield in the January transfer window?

“At this moment, we still need to evaluate players like Iling and Nicolussi Caviglia from our youth academy. Before the transfer window closes, if there are some good opportunities, then we will evaluate them.”
