Cristiano Giuntoli is hoping to leave his position as sporting director at Napoli to join up with his new employers at Juventus by the end of next week to begin preparing and implementing plans with the Bianconeri before the start of the 2023-24 season.

The 51-year-old official, who had played a crucial role in delivering Napoli’s first Scudetto in over 30 years alongside coach Luciano Spalletti this season, is set to leave after an eight-year spell following an enticing offer from the Old Lady.

La Gazzetta dello Sport wrote on Friday morning that Giuntoli is hoping to receive the green light to officially leave his post from Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis by next Wednesday, or failing that, by the end of next week.

Giuntoli will also be joined in Turin by current Napoli colleagues Giuseppe Pompilio and Stefano Stefanelli.

La Gazzetta also reports that Giuntoli is expected to sign a five-year contract worth in the region of €1.5m net per season.

If all goes to plan and Giuntoli is able to complete his move on Wednesday, then the first meeting with Juve coach Massmiliano Allegri could take place as early as next week.
