Serie A will resume in June and the Rossoblu patron is concerned about the unique protocol where the whole team would be quarantined in case of a positive case.
“We did not expect to celebrate these occasions in a pandemic emergency. We hope that this centenary will turn into something positive with the restart,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.
“We are a little bit worried that a positive team should be quarantined. I believe we are the only country in Europe to have adopted this measure.
“I don’t understand the meaning. Interrupting the championship would create excruciating damage to Italian football.”
But instead of talking about the proposed algorithms to decide the outcome in case of another stop, Giulini wanted to praise the FIGC President Gabriele Gravina.
“I believe Gravina did an excellent job and made all the correct decisions. I believe that if the championship resumes, it’s thanks to him.”
The Rossoblu chief expects football to ‘behave like all other sectors’ to the possible financial changes after the testing times.
“I believe that football will behave like all other sectors. I believe that if the market price drops, the contracts will also adjust.
“I think this situation can bring football back to being loved and bring back certain values.”
Giulini admitted that he has been thinking about when the fans might be able to return to the stands.
“We don’t know if and when it will be possible. Now, it’s difficult to provide the regulations. This is unfortunate because we should try to figure out how to schedule the reopening.
“Here in Sardinia the beaches were already full this weekend. It seems unbelievable to me not to think about the fans in the stadium in July.”
