Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini says Radja Nainggolan’s move to Roma was ‘logical’, and ‘he’ll end his career at Cagliari’.

The Belgian midfielder had previously been co-owned by the Isolani and the Giallorossi, a situation which was only resolved on Wednesday.

“Nainggolan to Roma was the most logical ending,” Giulini told Corriere dello Sport.

“He wanted the Giallorossi, and it’s only right that Roma kept him, because he’s an amazing player who is very attached to that shirt.

“There were some teams – some of them Italian -, who at various points of the deal expressed a lot of interest in him.

“The transfer market dictates his value. Until Sunday anything could have happened, but there was never a real risk of him leaving Roma.

“Nainggolan will end his career at Cagliari, there’s already a verbal agreement with him.”

Giulini also attacked former Coach Zdenek Zeman, blaming the Czech tactician for relegation last season.

“Appointing Zeman as Cagliari Coach was a serious mistake. Without his return, maybe we could have reached safety.

“With him, the team took one point in five matches.

“I won’t rest until Cagliari are in Serie A again, the fans must be our 12th man this season.”
