The Belgium international spent last season on loan in Sardinia and rediscovered his form, seemingly enough to calm the doubts that Inter directors had about him a year ago.
“The meeting with Inter did not go well, he is staying in Milan,” Giulini told reporters after leaving the Nerazzurri HQ.

“It’s impossible for us to sign him. I really think he’s going to remain there, as Inter want to keep Nainggolan.”
The Cagliari President also confirmed that they are “discussing Federico Fazio with Roma, we’ll see over the next few days if it is a transfer we will be able to do.
“I can deny the stories that Nahitan Nandez could go to Napoli in exchange for Adam Ounas. Nandez is staying with us, we haven’t offered him to anyone.”
