Milan striker Olivier Giroud is officially part of France’s World Cup squad going to Qatar 2022, along with Theo Hernandez and Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

The 36-year-old has found the net nine times in 18 games for the Rossoneri so far this season between Serie A and the Champions League, along with four assists.

The forward was suspended for last night’s 0-0 draw against Cremonese after a second yellow card for taking his shirt off against Spezia.

Giroud’s international record is of 49 goals in 114 senior caps for his country.

Coach Didier Deschamps announced his squad this evening, which also includes Giroud’s Milan teammate Theo Hernandez and Juventus midfielder Rabiot, who has received a new lease of life under Max Allegri so far this season.

Theo Hernandez only has seven senior caps for Les Bleus, scoring one goal.

Rabiot already has five goals in 14 competitive games for the Bianconeri.

The 27-year-old has 29 senior caps for France, in which he found the net twice.

Mike Maignan is not involved due to an injury.

  1. No Maignan then. Hmmm …

He will be disappointed but the fact he’s gonna be their number 1 GK after the World Cup should give him some comfort.
