Olivier Giroud reportedly left Milan’s training ground before the session was over and won’t be back in time for the game against Venezia tomorrow.

Sky Sport Italia journalists Peppe Di Stefano reports the former Chelsea striker has not recovered from the back problem he suffered after the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League.

The Frenchman reportedly left Milanello while the team’s training was still in progress and will thus not be at coach Stefano Pioli’s disposal tomorrow.

Milan aim to bounce back from their first draw in Serie A 2021-22 against the newly promoted side.

The Rossoneri have won both home games so far this season, only dropping points on the road against Juventus in Serie A and Liverpool in the Champions League.

Giroud scored a brace in the 4-1 win over Cagliari but has since struggled with both coronavirus and a back injury.

Ante Rebic has stepped up in the absence of both Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, scoring against in the last two games, while contributing two assists in four Serie A games.

After the defeat to Liverpool and the draw against Juventus, Milan have played two consecutive games without a win.

  1. LOL. It’s becoming a bit of a joke. I’m wondering if Ibra called Giroud last year and said “hey Oli, come to Milan – you get paid so much and never have to play, it’s amazing!”

Can’t wait for Milan to try and sign Messi when he’s about 50 🙂

  2. I agree with Vogel, seems that AC are not going to get their money’s worth out of these two oldies it’s looking like a poor decision to sign over aged players especially on high wages,

It would have been better to have kept young hungry player like Hauge

  3. I can’t believe they left Hauge go for next to nothing and pay these older players such high wages for uncertain playing time. The problem is once the injuries stop at that age, they don’t stop.
