Sebastian Giovinco had been linked with Serie A new boys Venezia, but it’s reported he is heading to PAOK Salonika instead.

The Atomic Ant shone in Italy for Empoli, Parma and Juventus, before leaving for Toronto FC in 2015 and has been in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal Riyadh since January 2019.

Venezia had tried to bring Giovinco back to Serie A following their promotion via the Serie B play-offs.

However, Sky Sport Italia claim the 34-year-old striker is instead on the verge of a transfer to Greek Super League side PAOK.

The negotiations are believed to be down to the details and should be completed over the next few days, along with a medical.

It will be a reunion with coach Razvan Lucescu, who already worked with Giovinco at Al-Hilal and took over at PAOK this summer, with a contract to June 2024.

Giovinco made 57 competitive appearances under Lucescu, scoring 10 goals and providing 14 assists, from 2019 to 2021.
