Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter found the 2-2 draw away to Inter ‘frustrating’ and insists they limited Romelu Lukaku as much as possible, despite his brace.
“I’m not as satisfied with a 2-2 draw as I would have been before the game,” Ginter told UEFA.com.
“When you take the lead like that shortly before the end of the game, especially away from home, it’s the frustrating to concede in the 90th minute from a set piece that was avoidable.”
Ultimately, Lukaku was the decisive factor, as he scored twice around a Ramy Bensebaini penalty and Jonas Hofmann counter.
“I don’t think you can take players like Lukaku out of the game completely. He had three chances and scored twice, both from close range. We didn’t give much away in the game.”
