Inter will reportedly move for Atletico Madrid defender Jose Maria Gimenez in January.

The Nerazzurri were looking for another centre-back in the summer transfer window, but failed with moves for Shkodran Mustafi and Eliaquim Mangala.

This morning’s Tuttosport is reporting that they’ll try again for a reinforcement at the back in January, with Gimenez top of their list.

Roma and Juventus were interested in the Uruguayan this summer, but Atleti’s transfer ban meant they wouldn’t sell, and his release clause is €65m.

That could open the door for Inter, though they’re also interested in Armando Izzo in January.
