Sources with direct knowledge of the matter tell me that Gilardino will sign a two-year deal with Pisa, with a possible option for a further campaign.

Gilardino is formally under contract with Genoa, but the termination of the agreement with the Grifone won’t be an issue.

Pisa and Gilardino’s entourage will review the latest contract details today, including Gila’s staff members.

The 42-year-old is expected to sign his contract with Pisa by Monday.

Gilardino has been without a club since November, when Genoa sacked him to appoint Patrick Vieira.

Gilardino won 32 games from 79 at Genoa, securing promotion from Serie B in 2022-23 and securing Serie A survival in the following campaign.
