The striker is among several top stars considering their future after the Viola failed to qualify for Europe again.

“I have two years on my contract with Fiorentina and I am very happy in Florence, but I have no guarantee of staying and don't want to take anyone for a ride,” he told the ANSA news agency.

“I don't know what will happen from here to August 30. A lot will depend on my chances of talking to someone at the club to understand what their plans are.”

Among others, Gilardino has been linked with Spanish sides Villarreal and Valencia.
