Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino admits ‘anything can happen’ in the January transfer window, but hopes Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur target Radu Dragusin stays at the Stadio Ferraris until the end of the season.
Dragusin has been linked with a move to Tottenham or Napoli in the 2024 winter transfer window and the latest report from Sky Sport Italia claims the defending Serie A champions have offered €20m plus Leo Ostigard to sign the exciting 21-year-old centre-back.
Tottenham are also strongly interested in the product of Juventus’ academy, but Genoa’s asking price is said to be in the region of €35m.
Dragusin is expected to start on Friday in a Serie A game against Bologna at the Stadio Dall’Ara.
Gilardino spoke about the Romania international’s future during a pre-match press conference today.
“Of course, rumours and some determined situations are never good, especially at this moment, while the season is ongoing,” said the 2006 Italy World Cup winner.
“I trust my players because I see them train every day. I know them and they are great professionals. I am sure they will give their all as long as they stay here with great dignity and determination. I am convinced about it. Obviously, I hope nobody leaves; it’s natural, but the market is so floating that anything can happen.”
Dragusin has scored two goals in 18 Serie A appearances this season. He also played for Juventus, Sampdoria and Salernitana, and overall, he has made 39 appearances in Italy’s top flight.
