Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino says he intends to stay at the club for the rest of the season and then consider his future.

The 28-year-old Italy international has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus in recent weeks and also changed his agent, which only fueled speculation further.

"When you play for a team like Fiorentina it is normal to be wanted by other teams," Gilardino said.

"It gives me pleasure, but I am happy to be here in Florence. I still want to give a lot with this shirt and contribute to giving a hand to the team.

"I didn't celebrate the goal against Brescia because there wasn't enough time to celebrate and we needed to turn the result around.

"I have been suffering with a pain in my knee for a few weeks. I don't know what my future will be. I prefer to look at the present and to do well with my team.

"Then in June we will see.

"My daughter will be born in June and this means more than the rumours. It bothered me a little that the decision to change agent was quickly associated with me possibly moving to Juventus.

"It was a professional decision and not a way to leave Fiorentina. There is still a possibility that I could stay in Florence.

"I am not the one to decide. I have a contract until 2013, so the club will also have a say.

"We'll need to judge carefully what to do with my future. Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I am very happy here and if I had to leave it would only be for a professional decision. It would not be financial, but only to have more challenges."
