Roma idol Giuseppe Giannini thinks the club should consider keeping boss Aurelio Andreazzoli once this season comes to an end.

Andreazzoli replaced Zdenek Zeman in February, but he was only expected to be a short-term option until the club could bring in a new name for 2013-14.

However, the Giallorossi have climbed up to fifth in the table after collecting 13 points from a possible 18 since Zeman was axed.

“Andreazzoli has managed to give the team more solidity,” Giannini, who spent 15 years at Roma before his 1996 exit, told Radio Mana Mana.

“He is doing really well with the opportunity that he has been given. If he continues like this then he would deserve to stay.

“Especially as I wouldn’t want another Vincenzo Montella situation, who wasn’t considered good enough to keep and who instead turned out to be a revelation elsewhere.”

Andreazzoli, born in 1953, has actually been a coaching assistant at Roma since joining the club from Udinese eight years ago.
