After having secured the Scudetto, coach Anotnio Conte let his staff talk during the press conference ahead of this weekend’s game against Sampdoria.

His brother, the technical coach Gianluca, was asked about the time Antonio was sitting out a touchline ban against Fiorentina.

The Inter tactician wasn’t exactly subtle about coaching from the stands and nearly deafened his brother.

“As previously mentioned, it’s better that he stays in the dugout,” he joked at the press conference. “For the passion that he has, it’s better that he stays there, it makes him feel better.”

Gianluca was then asked about his support of Denmark international Eriksen during the 2020-21 season, as the former Tottenham Hotspur star initially struggled to convince at the Nerazzurri.

“The path taken is the path that many talented athletes who come from different championship have experienced,” he continued.

“They must understand the needs of the coach and have to face a different championship.

“We have never had any doubts, we have always supported him, the coach with his directives and us with our advice.

“Now, he has entered a mechanism and must remain there.”
