The Granata have eight points after 14 games and sit last in the Serie A table after a 1-1 draw away at Napoli.

“We showed the right attitude,” the Italian tactician told Sky Sport.

“I liked the team, I liked their commitment. They guys showed passion, even if we've faced tough times. We never feared against Napoli," he added.

“I believe we don’t deserve this placement, but I don’t resign myself. The players proved to respect me, I liked [Armando] Izzo’s hug, but the guys don’t have to play for me.

“[Lorenzo] Insigne scored a great goal. We don’t have to recriminate about this game. We lost important points against Juventus, Sassuolo and Lazio. We paid a high price for not being able to handle difficulties.”
