Marco Giampaolo said he’s ‘dedicated’ to Torino’s project and hopes the Granata will play without ‘frustration and nervousness’ against Udinese.

Torino are third from bottom after the defeat in the Derby della Mole against Juventus and Giampaolo admitted he doesn’t ‘sleep peacefully’ ahead of the match against the Friuli on Saturday.

“The dispute is a result of the moment and the lack of results,” Giampaolo said at a press conference. “It’s the same dissatisfaction that we have.

“I don’t sleep peacefully, but I dedicate my time to Toro, morning and evening.

“We need to identify with the club and its values. The sense of belonging is an aspect that the players must feel on his skin.

“We have to think about tomorrow, aware of what we are and the moment we have lived. We have to play at our best, with a cold mind and a warm heart.

“I hope we will play without frustration and nervousness. We occupy a position in the table that is not true for the team’s values. We are confident of getting out of it.”

Giampaolo said it’s important to be honest with his players and analyse the situation at the Grande Torino.

“You don’t have to bluff with the players but say things as they are and analyse the moment,” he said. “There’s a need to gain awareness and work a lot, keeping our head down.

“One does not live on justifications, but on facts. This is what I ask of them.”

The coach knows he needs results to keep his job despite the support he received from President Urbano Cairo, who said he ‘values’ Giampaolo.

“I’m glad, but I know it’s not enough. I have to bring results. The goals conceded are my responsibility. On Tuesday morning, we worked an hour on that.

“We lost because of details against Juventus.”

The Torino coach said he has lived ‘many’ challenging moments, when he was asked if this was his most difficult time in his career.

“I have lived many, I live one now and I will live them in the future,” he said. “My reference are the players and how they train.”
