Gervinho has revealed how much he’s enjoying his football at Roma, but doesn’t want to be put on a pedestal.

The Ivory Coast international has enjoyed a stunning first season in Italy, scoring nine and assisting 12 goals in 33 appearances.

And the forward has admitted that he feels at home in the capital.

“I’ve been received so well in Rome,” he told Sport Week. “Everyone’s been so good to me on and off the pitch.

“I’ve been received so well in Rome,” he told Sport Week. “Everyone’s been so good to me on and off the pitch.

“I’ve been put on a pedestal, but I never asked for that. They’ve made me feel so important.

“I have so much respect for everyone at the club, especially the fans. It really excites me when the stadium swells up every time I get the ball.

“It feels like we won the Scudetto, the atmosphere in the city was that good. I wonder what it would be like when it actually happen?”

The former Arsenal man then commented legendary captain Francesco Totti.

“Every now and then Totti says a few words in French to make me laugh. He’s such a humble guy – not arrogant at all.

“For me, Drogba and Totti are the same – experienced players who are loved in the dressing room.”
