Atalanta received reassuring news from Germany manager Hansi Flick, who confirms Robin Gosens is ‘improving’ after a foot injury.

The wingback sustained a ‘capsular injury in the left foot’ during a World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein this week.

There were fears he’d be ruled out for several weeks, but it seems as if he will remain with the squad in Germany ahead of their games against Armenia and Iceland.

“Gosens is out of tomorrow’s game against Armenia, but his condition is improving,” said Flick during a press conference.

This suggests he could make a full recovery and feature in the final qualifier against Iceland on September 8.
